This is a thin body semi hollow parlor that joins at the 12th fret. I wanted to make an electric that had the vibe of an acoustic. I strung this guitar with 11s, and it sounds like any good electric, but with a bit more sustain and overtones. Very feedback resistant.
The top, back and sides are all seperate pieces, joined with kerfing. To reduce feedback and enable a studed bridge mount, there are multiple solid mahogany blocks that connect the top and back together. The pickup mounting plate removes for access to the truss rod and neck attachment bolt. The tongue is glued to the top. Pickup is wired directly out. Hand applied tru-oil finish.
This was a prototype guitar, and while it does what I had hoped, I'm going to change the subsequent models. I'll use a footed "archtop" bridge and a short tailpiece. The internal bracing will also be a little lighter, since the tension on the body will be lessened at the bridge area. And I'll probably use a soapbar pickup as well.
